    Artist Statment

Moving to over ten different locations before I was eighteen, I grew accustomed to traveling.  As I became an artist I realized how integral it was to my process. The roads I have driven have become siblings in a way, guiding me from one place to another.  They are eager to show me what lies on the path and what is at the end. As a photographer, I have the privilege to capture these singular moments and I want to share them where and how I can.  I like to think of my work as a reflection of those journeys that showed me such beauty and through the inclusion of technology, a reflection of my personal growth on the twisting roads.

Bio: Andrew Stevens was born on the coast of North Carolina and spent his childhood living in North Carolina, Sicily, Italy, Pennsylvania and South Carolina.  After graduating from high school in North Carolina he joined the Marine Corps and was Honorably discharged before attending USC Upstate in Spartanburg. He transferred to Winthrop University where he received his BFA in Photography on May 5th, 2018.  Since then he set out on a sixty-day expedition across America, starting and ending in Rock Hill between June 1st and July 31st.
